Fox

Foxes, also known as vulpini, are a member of the canine (dog) family. They have horizontal pupils which makes them look a lot like a cat. Foxes live for 2 - 5 years.

When a fox pup is born it can't see, hear or walk, which means its mother has to take very good care of it. The father will go out to hunt for food and bring it home for the family.

The fox has adapted in many different ways, such as a bendy body, sharp claws, and retractable claws. It has these adaptations to help it hunt food like birds, rats, and mice. The fox is the only member of the canine family with retractable claws.

The arctic fox lives in Antarctica. It has long white fur to keep it warm in the winter. Its fur is white so it can camouflage into the snow and ice. When the ice melts in Summer/Spring its fur will become shorter and change color to a more grey/brown color.
