The eel-tailed catfish is from the catfish family. Its tail is like an eel and its body is like a catfish. They Can grow up to 50 cm.  Over years they have evolved to survive harsh environments.​

 

Eel-tailed catfish protect themselves by stinging predators through their dorsal and pectoral fins.

When they are born they change to the colour of the environment they are living in. Unlike other fish, the eggs take up to a week to hatch.
